i have three rods built from dan craft blanks. the three i fish with i would consider to be "moderate fast".
i built one for a friend on a FT904-4 and it is very fast action and an absolute cannon. not sure what else you want to know. they are very good blanks. Re: blanks

well, as for "characteristics"... i might add that the dan craft FT904-4 really feels like a much bigger weight rod in hand. the blank's diameter is huge compared to the typical 4 weight fly rod, or at least the ones i've seen and cast. this does not address the casting charecteristics, just the "heft" or in-hand feel while holding the rod. i have a dan craft Signature V 8'-4" 4 weight and it's much much smaller and lighter "in hand."
