My question is, how soon after writing on blank can you apply finish? Does'nt seem like the ink(?) ever dries and I'm worried about smearing the writing while finishing. Re: Gel Pens

I wait 30 minutes or so just to be sure. Try it on a piece of plastic maybe and see if you can wipe it of with a dry cloth after 30 minutes. I don't know the drying times of different pens. Tight wraps! Re: Gel Pens

Hitting it with a hair dryer also speed up the drying time. Re: Gel Pens

You may want to coat it with a light spray of clear acrylic enamel. Gel pen ink never really dries, and when you brush something over it, the ink tends to smear a little. I do the spray thing, and have had no problems.

Fred- I've seen one gel pen that never would harden enough to even put CP over top. A friend of mine got it in a hand wrapper kit he bought from a non-sponsor a couple of years ago (Cabela's). He wound up just throwing it away and buying a different style pen. It was the only time that I saw this happen with a gel pen, though. Putter Williston, ND Re: Gel Pens

Krylon Fixative. Light spray, dry, and epoxy. The only 'real' way to be safe.

Always spray with Fixatiff before the finish coat. Re: Gel Pens
