reworking lava finish

A couple of weeks ago I posted about a finish that looked like dried lava .Well today I sanded the finish using a block of wood and a 1200 grit paper. I had it really smooth and after applying epoxy I saw the fuzzies appear.I think I know what to do but thought I’d check anyway. After it sets and hardened LIGHTLY sand bad areas and recoat?? If this isn’t right drop me a hint
As always thanks to all who take the time to respond and lead me along
Ken Blevins
OR am I going to have to strip the wrap and start again????

If you sanded into the thread, then you may be looking at a complete redo. Whenever you find it necessary to sand epoxy, you have to be very careful not to go so far that you get down into the thread.
