Thread suggestions ???

Hello guys,

I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand to choose some nice colours for a "Forecast F907-4", the blank is a 4 pieces one and got the traditionnal Forecast blue.

I would like to avoid any blue or green colour, and give it a "smart" touch.

Any suggestion ?

Thanks'

Frantz

I just wrapped one of those with medium gray/light blue guide wraps. My butt wrap was black/charcoal. If you want pictures I can post some.

The last one of these in my shop, I had planned to wrap some various brass and copper colors on it with maybe a blue trim band in it and look it over. I never had time; had to git'r'done...

I like using a different shade of Blue for a main field color to not blend in and hide on the blank but differing enough to conpliment it, then if you have chrome guide frames and reel seat hardware, use met silver tags on each ends of the main field, Gold guide rings or reel seat hardware the use met. ole gold tags.........then inside the main field color add a highlight stripe (three or four wraps) that stands out..

Brown is always nice.

But right now I'm hooked on metallic threads. Especially blue.....Ooooooooh...Pretty!

I just finished one using Sulky black metallic as my main wrapping thread and copper metallic for inlays and trim. I like the metallic black and you could substitute the trim color depending on your grip and reel seat choices.

Garnet without cp looks great on this blank, with gold or silver trim. I just finished one with blue dun with no cp and used ncp grey trim. It looks sweet to.

I'm going to go with Tom garnet or maroon and your choice of gold or silver trim to match the guides.

For Example, see the following: [www.tightwraps.com]

I'm not saying the colour combo is any good, just deominstrating the technique.

I'm with Tom Nair on this one as well. The garnet with no CP will turn a beautiful redish almost candy apple red and the gold metallic trim really sets it off. Very classy look.

Well, well, well, I have finally chosen Garnet and copper metallic trim... I am still hesitating whether I should use some CP or not.

Anyway, thanks to everybody I am likely to get a perfect look !!

Do a small test wrap on a scrap blank & see which you like better. Bright red without CP on a dark blank will turn garnet. You can avoid any splothcy parts by packing and burnishing the thread well.
