Thread color suggestions

Hi All,
I'm building my first spinning rod and I could use some suggestions for thread color. It's a Cabelas blank in a Jade green color. I'm using a reel seat with gold trim, and I'll probably use black guides with a gold ring.
Any ideas?

Bill

Garnet with gold and black trim bands.

Here's a Rainforrest with a color scheme close to Bill's suggestion - no black trim because in this case I used gold SF wire guides.

Hunter green mainfield color with metallic ole gold tags and a single (three wrap) band of chartruese 3/4 way up the guide foot. Use a reel seat sporting gold hardware and the gold cermet guide rings and you have yourself some continuity of highlight with a subltle variation from the blank color and a sharp eye catching highlight, and even a yellowish chartruese will appear green sandwiched inbetween the hunter green mainfield, much the way hot pink looks like a brillaint red sandwiched between a black main filed, its far better looking at any distance than a candy apple red highlight. and if you want a greener highlight that borders on grn chart, try spring green, but actually the gudebrod chartruese 581although sort of bright yellow looking on the spool looks greener in this application than the spring green. I usually try to match the blank color some what varing hues; a chesnut blank I like to use a differnt hue of brown mainfield (or met red bronze) with copper tags, plum blanks I like to use purple (or met red bronze) with met silver tags. With gray blanks I like using a blue hued mainfiled. GL2 blue I'd aslo go with some variation of a blue mainfield and some blue guide rings also.

Hi,

Check out the Guide Wrap Colour Combo Tester. It lets you try different combinations (in Gudebrod colours) and see the results.
