When static testing a casting rod would have the blank oriented for the eyes on top or on the bottom. It seems that it is easier for the eyes to follow the arc on the bottom than the top. Re: Static testing

on Top, you should be looking for clearance of line to blank ,so adjustments can be made Re: Static testing

Most of the time you will be using more guides and they will be closer together when they are on top of the blank in order to keep the line off the blank.
If you do a spiral wrap and have the tip guides on the bottom as a spinner, you will find that you will use one or two less guides. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
