A sharp idea

I ordered a surgeons scalpel and blades from Nasco, Fort Atkinson, Wi.

The price for the scalpel handle (#SB06903) was $.95 stainless steel and the blades (#SB09352) were $!0.50 for a hundred of size #11.

I found them to be sharper then Xcato and better priced.

Web page www.enasco.com, telephone 1-800-558-9595.

Larry- you're right but be very, very careful though. A scalpel will cut you so easily that you won't even know it until you see blood- they are unforgiving. I speak from personal experience. A hunting buddy who is also a taxidermist turned me on to skinning deer with a scalpel several years ago and I've had several unintended lacerations. Of course, I can be pretty dangerous with a dull spoon as well.

I also use scalpels. They are sharper than razor blades! Hnadle and 100 blades under 10 bucks on @#$%&.
