Can anyone tell me, direct me to a link, or suggest a book that can explain to me the best way to permanately attach a mono running line to a regular fly line. Which then can be attched to multiple tips by a loop.
Thanks Re: Multi-tip line

If you don't want to spend a ton of money, and you've got some time to experiment, then hit up the following url...
www.speypages.com they have a tutorial on this stuff You can also do a search for "epoxy loop" and epoxy splice on google. Otherwise, I don't think there is a whole book dedicated to this. There is a decent section in the Trey Combs fly fishing for steelhead book, but that is the extent of what I've seen.. -- Cheers -- James Re: Multi-tip line

I haven't tried it yet but it was suggested to me to replace the running line with RIO's Slick Shooter. I just looked at RIO's web site and couldn't find it. Did a google and some shops show it in inventory. RIO is showing a Powerflex Core Shooting LIne probably same product with different marketing. I'm guessing that your wanting to replace the running line with mono for more reel capacity and increased shooting distance.
A guide at a sportsman show told me about Slick Shooter. He said the small diameter running line allows the fly to swing more natural and easier to mend when making looong casts for steelhead/salmon. I've made loops in fly lines for interchanging heads by dipping an inch or so of the fly line in finger nail polish remover. The polish remover softens the outer plastic fly line cover to pull it off with your thumb nail exposing the inner core. Fold back the core forming a loop then wrap with fly tying tread and coat with a small amount of epoxy. Re: Multi-tip line

fun 6" braided butt (Gudebrod is best) up fly line, set aside for later
strip coating from fly line, exposing braided core - 1-2" run a fat needle up the core to open it up. Leave it there for several hours. roughen slickshooter with sandpaper insert slickshooter into fly line core as far as coated fly line wrap thread across entire connection using "spinning bobbin" trick, whip finish at end epoxy, dry thoroughly bring braided butt across junction, whip finish or nail knot the loose ends, and seal ends only with epoxy Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
