Blank recommendations for Kingfish and Snapper Rods

I am looking to build a kingfish and snapper rod. The kingfish and snapper both will be fishing live and dead bait. I am new to rodbuilding and I have only built 2 inshore rods....I am unsure of the following:

*What would be the best material for it to be made out of?
*What pound class should they be?
*How long would be best I think 7'?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

One rod for both, Seeker CLB 708. Two rods, the 708 and a CLB 704 for kings.

Spencer-

Thanks for the reply...I looked them up they are graphite 7'...I thought at first being 70 that that was the inches...apparently they don't use this convention.

So you would recommend graphite over fiberglass for offshore bait fishing rods? I don't see why someone would want fiberglass, it would be a lot heavier..

Thank You,
Jeffrey

I like the weight, I like the light tips, I like a composite e glass/graphite blanks in general. Have played with some of the Rainshadow/Forecast SWS blanks lately also, haven't fished with them on the east coast yet, but they show promise from what little bit I've got to play with them on the other coast. Andy Dear at Lamar Reelseats had some, they were at a great price and he would have a better fix on them, also he might have an Allstar LB 904L which is a good kingfish blank come to think of it.

Awesome blank:

Allstar LB 904L

I have caught 26 lb tuna on it and love it. Not sure if I like it more than my G-USA, but do like it as much or more than my Seekers.

Phil
