Andy Dear's Lathe in Rodbuilding DVD - 5 stars!

Highly recommend this DVD to anyone who is looking to turn his/her own cork and reelseats.

While he only shows a couple of different types of project, it was easy for me to watch and understand how I could use the same techniques for other things (wood inlays, winding checks, fighting butts, whole handles, etc). Although I have only had the lathe for a few weeks now, I have managed to turn a bunch of different stuff (including a salt and pepper shaker set, heheh) using the techniques Andy demonstrates.

Worth far more than the $29 or whatever I paid for it....five star recommended!

SO you think by shmoozing me in public you're gonna get some free blanks or something?

Seriously...thanks for the kind words, That was the intended gaol, to give you some rudimentary skills and some basic projects that you could build on.

I always tell guys, when your wife figures out what you can make with a Lathe, Reelseats will be the last thing you get to turn!

Regards,

Andy Dear

P.S. Hey Scott, you be in Charlotte this year?

Scott, I agree 100% that Andy's DVD is money well spent. I got my DVD before I got my lathe and was probably lucky I did. For someone like me that had never used a lathe, well, I know now that things can happen pretty fast sometimes - some pretty unexpected things. Just the few safety tips were worth the expense of the DVD for me.
