I have a potential customer who lives in Mexico. I've never sold outside of the US before. Can anyone share their experience with exporting to Mexico?
Are there extra forms / paperwork / taxes other anything else on the legal side of things that I need to be aware of? Thanks, Erik Re: Shipping to Mexico

99% of what we ship out of the U.S. goes by USPS and they have all of the Customs forms needed. All you have to do is fill out the form which will ask for a declaired value and your customer will pay any duties/taxes based on that value. There is nothing to pay on YOUR end other than the shipping cost to get it there. No FET or sales tax is involved if it's leaving the U.S.
If you're shipping a rod or blank, DHL usually has the best "oversized" rates going OUT of the U.S., but check UPS & Fedex as well. Generally the carrier with a "hub" closest to your shipping destination will have the best rate. Whichever carrier you go with should have the required customs documents.
