to finish the guide wraps on a black rod with black thread, would you suggest using permagloss before FC lite, or just a few coats of FC lite by itself?

Rob
You can put a coat of CP on first, then your Flex Coat Lite, or FC hi build, or even just permagloss, several coats, do a test first , see what you like
By the way, what are you building ?

I can't think of a good reason to mix finishes like that. Pick several coats of one or one or two of the other. But then again, experimentation must be encouraged. Give it a try and followup with a report on results.

If you use Permagloss it will take more than two coats. Permagloss is a very hard, durable finish but it takes multiple coats. (~5-7) Permagloss has many advantages, if you have the patientce to put on several coats. It all depends on how thick you want the finish.

Black rod and black thread? Just use the FC and let it go at that. No CP needed.
