Dear all,

for a saltwater fly rod project I would like to hear your opinion which glue would be the best to connect different cork rings with each other, I am thinking about two component epoxy or whater proof white glue.

The connection between blank and grip for sure I will do lateron with epoxy.

RGDS,
Ole

There are quite a few adhesives that work and work well. I'm like Spencer and use Rod Bond, too. I put it on with a single edged razor blade (both sides) and try to scrape it all off with the blade when done. It works well as a spatula (haven't cut myself yet, knock on wood...).

Larry,

Well said and very true.

Mrs. Mumford,

I know exactly what you are going through. I lost my wife of 20 years, in may of 2005, due to a brain stem bleed at the age of 41. Folks who've never been through this can't comprehend the hurt of losing someone you have spent the better part of your life with. It's hard to get over something like that. I still am far from over it, but God has sent me another wonderful woman who does understand and pledges to stand beside me and help me. We plan to wed on April 29th. I know Tom does not like posts that contain any religeous overtones, but I'm hoping he'll allow this one. God is my fortress and strength, through him all things are possible. I hope he rests his healing hand upon you to help you through. I'll be praying for you and your family, in this time of grief and hardship.
