I have built three or four and plan to build more. The blanks are more than decent and fish even better. I have a customer now that I am steering toward these blanks. He has mine out now fishing it and I think he will go for it. Have fun.. Big John Rio Hondo, Texas Blessed are those who can give without remembering and take without forgetting Re: forecast blanks

Rob -
Way, way better than an "average starter" - excellent value for your money. Re: forecast blanks

just a note regarding forecast blanks. with the fly versions, there are two types still out there for purchase. the older forecast teal/blue-green colored ones and the higher quality newer forecast, now called RX6 by batson enterprises. i recommend the RX6 blanks over the older teal colored ones for color and quality isuues.
another blank which is a great value are the tiger eyes, mentioned once above. a little more than the RX6/forecast blanks but very very nice with a unique root beer/tiger eye finish. i think the quality is equal if not higher than the RX6 blanks. i think the tiger eyes excel in the 8 foot and shorter lengths. eric fresno, ca. My fly rods built on Forecast blanks are my number one go to rods. The lighter weights under 6wt. are moderate action with plenty of reserve power, great roll casters. Best for fishing within 60 feet or less. I don't like the heavier weights as much, they seem a bit heavy after a long day... Bob./ Bridgeton, NJ. Re: forecast blanks

I've built a dozen or so, with most recently the 13' spey.
I put it in the hands of a guide on a steelhead trip. He thought I bought it at the local $$$ fly shop RB Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
