Plugging Rod

I am stripping a 20 year old shakespeare blank that was used for plugging. It is 7' 3" long Need help with guide size selection customer perfers using Fuji Hardoly guides. The rod will be used as a plugging rod for 11/2 - 2 oz plugs. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Just registered and already down to page two!! You've got to be fast on here Louis!!! If it's a casting rod, start with a 16 or even a 12 and get down to 7's quick. 16, 12, 8,7,7,7,7. If it's spinning, you should start with the reel to be used as that will determine your first guide. The library here has a good article on setting up a spinning rod, actually a bunch of good stuff in there.
