Which blank would be best for tossing the 1/4 to 1/2 oz jig while watching kids play at the beach? I'm thinking the 8'3" to 9' range. How do you like the Rainshadows in 1024? 1083? 1025? Re: Best steelhead blank for pompano in surf??

I'd look at the 993 for this, I think it would work jigs better with the faster actioned tip with, my guess, the same power as the 4 power blanks in the butt.
8 lb line, 20 lb short shock leader, SW reel you're in business. I think the green blank would be awesome in the sun there. Re: Best steelhead blank for pompano in surf??

Marty,
If you've used any popping rods, it will remind you of a longer 2 power (fast action, 6 to 12 lb) popping rod in many ways. Re: Best steelhead blank for pompano in surf??

I know absolutely nothing about pompano....But the 993 is a great blank.
