9' 9wt med fast blank in black or grey ???

Hi all,

I'm looking to build a 9' 9wt 3 piece for my brother-in-law. He's vey picky, and wants something black, preferably satin. 45-50 modulous and med fast, but color of blank is very important.

As for me building the rod, reasonable price is important :)

Any suggestions? --tia

Peter,
If you're willing to settle for a 2pc. I recently purchased the last remaining AllStar Austin flyblanks in the country. The 9wt I have is a 2pc in matte charcoal. It is a fantastic blank, vey light and crisp but not overly stiff...in fact one of my best friends holds a line class record for Bonefish on this very model.

You can see pricing on my website at www.lamarreelseats.com

Call me if I can be of help!

The Dan Craft Sig V fits your need. It is a very good 3 piece blank at a very fair price. Check out "Dan Craft Ent." site on left of page.

I don't know, the Dan Craft may be to good a rod for him if he's that picky. Better graphite than spec'd, and will probably be to light and lively. LOL. Second season has started for my set of salmon/steelhead "Danny's Rods" as the guys call them.

The Sig V is a higher modulous but the action is within the spec's.

I believe the sig V is also available in a gloss also , which isn't at all a very bright shine . The finish on the 5wt I built was just a bit glossy , a very nice touch to a fantastic blank , and it is 3 pc . The action is med. / fast too , just what the doctor ordered, can't go wrong with that one . Have fun , John
