A quick question on epoxy. What is the best way to clean the siringes after use? If I don't clean them they seem to "set-up" a bit and then leave little bits of "stuff" in my next project.
Thanks in advance. Jim Re: Epoxy

After you push the epoxy part/s out of them into your mix cup, withdraw the plungers a bit, aim the syringe at your trash can, and quickly depress the plunger, effectively "blowing out" that last little bit of epoxy part in the nozzle. Then withdraw then about half way and leave them alone. The "stuff" you're seeing in your next project is probably crystalized resin left in the nozzle portion of the syringe.

I read a post some months ago that opened my eyes on this. The trick was just drilling a jole in the bottle's cap of the same daimeter (a little less) than the siringes point. It's very useful to pick up the epoxy and to leave the siringes once you've finished. Don't leave them fully closed or it's sometimes difficult to open them again later.
I' musing this systems for months and I have no "stuff" problems. Just be sure tu use always the same siringe with the same epoxy component. Daniel Re: Epoxy

I use the drilled hole in cap method and keep my syringes in them (plunger pulled up about an inch) when not in use. Just turn the bottle upside down and draw what you need into it. When the bottles empty, just swithch the caps/syringes to the new bottle. Been using the same syringes for way over a year and have never cleaned them in any way. No mess, no fuss!

After they are empty, I draw them back and push onto a paper towel, tends to get that last little bit out. Then I draw them 3/4's the way back and fold a paper towel over them with a rubber band around them and then insert them with the opening down in a bag with the finish.
