finish clean up

i inadvertantly touched some felt to some still tacky flex cote and got some fuzz stuck to my rod wrap. any ideas for clean up? wil a solvent like acetone work? Re: finish clean up

Isopropyl alchohol, rubbing alchohol, and denatured alchohol will also work well and are probably safer to use on the felt (a synthetic?).

ooops misread your post, I thought you were trying to get the flex coat off of the felt, not the other way around.
In your situation it would probably be best to let the finish dry and then knock off the offending fuzzies with a razor blade. Then apply a nother coat of finish. If this doesn't produce the desired results, hit the wrap with some hot air from a hair dryer and peal of the finish and thread. If you do this soon after the finish has set, it will come off easily. If you must touch the finish in order to see if it's set - tough the stuff left in your mixing cup rather than that on your rod.
