Has anyone ever used REC recoil guides with any of the braided superlines such as 20lb power pro?

I have some now and use braid. So far so good, but I've only got one season on them.

They seem to be holding up on barra using 50lb braid down here in oz. Factory rolled Loomis rods are a prized possession of barra fisho's down here.

I've heard a lot of complaints (all second-hand), that braid + recoils = lots of line noise. Can any builders verify or refute this claim? I'm afraid to use REC recoils for fear of returns because of this.

I emailed REC and they confirmed that recoil guides can be used with braided lines such as powerpro.

I have also heard they are noisy, but for my application, I'll be willing to deal with that.
