Alright, Tim. Show me your math for "tweaking" guides for smooth line flow! I love that kindof stuff. Ive already showed my no caliper taper math, no one was very impressed. Thats ok, I was pretty pleased with myself over it. LOL Re: Tim collins

I can't figure out how to attach my files to this forum, and since your address is hidden, send an email to graystroke77@yahoo.com and I'll reply back with my file with 3 different RMO Concept spacings compared to Fuji's recommended specs on my latest project. I also have a file on the Dan Craft 1008-4 FT blank that I built for my step-son. This took a little more work since I wanted to integrate the ferrule locations with the guide spacings, but by laying everything out on paper, it was easy to set up my initial trials.
In the RMO forum there is considerable CC information on fly rods and very little on spinning rods. What I don't understand is why there isn't a place to list actual guide spacings built on a particular blank. I know - no two blanks are the same. And no two snowflakes are identical either even though it's being snowing every winter for the past 4 1/2 billion years! Since noone has compared all of the snowflakes since the beginning of time to verify it, I've got to believe at least two of them look pretty close! Anyway, it would be nice to see the guide spacings of other rodbuilders based on "their analysis" of a particular blank. Maybe it's TOP SECRECT or it's like what Cliff Hall says, "if a rodbuilder builds several rods week after week, they develope a feel for what the spacings should be". And due to the comments I received about my "20 different rod builders" post, I'm inclined to believe there's not a lot of difference between good enough and better than it has to be. Thanks Levi.
