Looking for some help. I have never built a float rod but I have taken an order on one. 16 foot 3 piece Diamondback. Looking for some help on guide placement and any other helpful information.
Thank You. Keith Re: Guide spacing 16 ft float rod

Starting from the tip start at 3" and then add one inch to the spacing per guide.
tip 3" 7" 12" 18" 25" 33" and so on tape guides on and then use static deflection to determine final settings of guides. Are you using M frame guides or V frame? Winter conditions or just fall and spring time fishing? Is he using a floatreel(center pin) or a spinning reel? Re: Guide spacing 16 ft float rod

Look above in the Library and read the article "Static Guide Placement". There you have all the information you need to place the guides correctly for any rod. If the rod is a spinner the "New Guide Concept Primer", also in the Library, will help too. Ralph If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again.
