Lance,
What kind of fishing are you doing? What kind of action do you prefer? Answers to those questions would help alot in giving you some options. That said I have a 9' 6wt St. Croix (pre IPC) that I love. Fast action, but not too powerfull. I use it for steelheading in N. CA, and mostly in the So. CA surf with shooting heads. The newer version might be even better. Blanks are around $200 if I remember correctly I like Dan Craft blanks are pretty dang nice too. FT for a fast and powerful rod, Sig V for a more moderate smooth action. Those are my suggestions. Barret Re: Best Black for 6wt 9'

I've just built two 9'-4 piece 6 weights on the PacBay traditions blank. I love the action of that blank; but I don't know if you can get them anymore as these were Made In USA blanks-gb- Re: Best Black for 6wt 9'
