Hi.
What's the difference between Fuji's titanium framed SiC and Concept guides - ie TSG and TLSG? Cheers, Sakari Re: Titanium framed Fuji Consept and SiC difference?

If the TLSG guides have SiC rings built like the Alconite rings they are they have a slightly larger ID than the standard Fuji guides, hence a thinner ceramic ring and a supposedly improved attachment system of the ring to the frame. At least that the company hype. Re: Titanium framed Fuji Consept and SiC difference?

For the FUJI CONCEPT-Style Guide Series: [www.fujitackle.com]
The Silicon Carbide Rings (SiC) with Titanium frames (Ti) are completely ANALOGOUS in DIMENSIONS to the Alconite Rings with the Stainless frames. The only difference is the ring ceramic and the frame metal. And the performance, but not in direct proportion to the higher price of the SiC-Ti over the Alconite-St. Within the Fuji Concept Style Guides, the Alconite-ring Steel-frame Series have exactly the same guide frame, with respect to frame shape, heel and ring angle, and height of the ring off the blank; and almost exactly the same ring dimensions (OD, ID and thickness, within a millimeter or so), as the SiC-ring Titanium-frame Series. Y-frame, Two-Leg, Single-foot (Spinning): TYSG TYSG = BYAG = CYAG Tri-Leg, Double-foot frame (Casting): TLNSG TLNSG = BLNAG = CLNAG Two-Leg, Single-foot frame (Low-frame): TUNSG TUNSG = BUNAG = CUNAG One-Leg, Single-foot frame (FLY): TLSG TLSG = BLAG = CLAG For a further discussion of this subject and its application, see the related Thread below. -Cliff Hall+++, Gainesville, FL-USA+++ How do I select guide sizes when ordering? Thanks Spencer and Cliff.
So TLSG has greater ID and thinner SiC ring with improved attachement system? Is there difference in weight? From the pics it would look that the TSG is slightly higher than the TLSG, is this true? The pics are here: [shop.mudhole.com] [shop.mudhole.com] T stands for titanium, S = SiC and G = guide, but does that L stand for? Unfortunately I don't gain anything from knowing what others the rings correlate - I'm a fly rod builder and haven been mostly in touch with single foot snakes etc. Cheers, Re: Titanium framed Fuji Consept and SiC difference?

TLSG: In this position of the Fuji code for Guide Styles, L = "FLY".
BLAG: Black color, FLY-frame, Alconite-ring, Guide BYLG: In this position: L = "HARDLOY" Guide ring BYLG: Black color, Y-frame, HardLoy-ring, Guide More FUJI de-coder legends and demystification available at: Fuji Guide Codes – simplifying the model #’s coding system [www.visualwrap.com] compiled by Billy Vivona. Thanks Cliff,
now I know why there's that L. And, on the other hand, I'm puzzled why the other is just TSG. Nice link, went to bookmarks. But, the points are (TSG vs TLSG): which one is higher, if any difference which one is lighter, if any difference Cheers, Sakari Re: Titanium framed Fuji Consept and SiC difference?

SAkari - I am not entirely sure of these answers - I think the TL is a little lower, adn a teeny weent drop lighter, as it has a shorter, thinner foot.
I am not sure of this, hopefully one of the fly rodders who build know the answer. I do not think there is a major differnece in weight or hieght between the 2, but I may be wrong Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
