at the low price end of the scale is the tiger eye. very good buy. i have a four piece seven weight. you might also check with dan craft. hard to beat his performance price ratio.

Many rods, but constantly, my goto 7wt rod for the last 10 years is a G Loomis GL3 4pc - 9'.

I have a 10' Scott ARC as well, but this is dedicated for stealhead - either swinging or high-stick nymphing.

A check in the CCS Data Site indicates that the SCIV and GL3 fall into the "medium / fast range most consistantly.

I use my 9' 7wt. quite a bit as a big streamer rod for trout. It's a 3 pc. Lamiglass Perigree (PFT10867), and it fits your Med./Fast requirement. I have nothing but praise for this rod. It has the capacity for just about anything you'd want to do with a 7wt. I put a full sink line on it and throw very large lead-eyed, wool head streamers; then I put a floating line on it and throw poppers for bass; then, I take that same floating line and trout fish with it. You don't have to be a great caster to get good performance out of this rod (I am evidence of this); with a decent double-haul, I can easliy cast 70 ft. with it--farther when the need arises.
