I have rebuilt a couple rods & now want to build a 7 wt for small mouth.
I want a medium, fast rod. I have a Cabelas 6wt SLI that casts like a dream. What other blanks would give me a medium, fast action ? Cabelas only has the sli 7 wt. in a 2 piece. I might want a 9 ft. 3 or 4 pc. Re: 7 wt rod blanks

George,
You might want to post on some of the BB asking for a Sage RPL 790-4 blank. These are the older modle but it makes a fantastic rod, perfect for what you're discribing. I have a couple of these in 7 wt, one is factory built and the other I built out. They are great bass rods, not too fast yet fast enough to cast anything you'll need for smallies. Just one possible suggestion... Jim Smith Re: 7 wt rod blanks

If you could give the action in degrees it would be easier to match than just by saying medium fast. But I think most all fly rod blanks these days fall into that range. The ST. Croix SCIV are great medium fast models. So are the Rainshadows and Loomis GL3's. All good ones to pick from and all I think can be had in either 3 or 4 piece models.
