Identifing Uni-butts

If you had an Aftco, Stuart, and imported uni-butt laying face down so you could not see the logo how could you tell one from the other? This can be valuable information next time you are in a room full of face down unibutts. Okay, time is up. the Stuart butt has 3 rings at the top and bottom of the butt, Aftco has 2 rings at the top and bottom, and the import has no rings. Jesse

Then you have unibutts that have 2 rings on bottom and 3 rings on top, 2 rings on bottom and 1 ring on top, 2 rings on bottom and no rings on top, and well....is that it or are there more? This is interesting and a good way of butt identification. I honestly never knew to look at the rings, but now I will! Thanks Jesse!

Aftco took Stuart to court over having 2 rings like they had so Stuart went to 3 rings and every thing was okay. By the way, the rings have a purpose, they hold the gimbal along with glue on the bottom and the slotted piece at the bottom of the ferrule at the top.I don't know about the imports. Jesse
