Ultra light spinning rod

I want to build an ultra light spinning rod, 7' length, fast crispy action, casting weight about 5 grams (3/16 oz to 1/4 oz). Could anyone give me some advise on: a) which blank to use, and b) other materials best used in combination with that blank. Appreciate your replies.

My favorite is the Batson IP 840. I'll email you the results of my first cast on the first one I finished using 4 lb line. SC makes a similar one, a 3C70ULF (not exactly sure this is the correct #) Dollar for dollar I think the Batson is the best buy. I have made three more since my catch in May. I have used both Zirchronium in SiC guides. So far can't tell alot of difference with 4 lb line. Do not recommend in heavy brush with 8 lb line.

I love it. Also used it for trout on the White River, Arkansas. My favorite. I have got them from several sponsors.

Adrian,
I think I have already answered this message few hours ago but it looks like everything has been deleted ....

As I said I had the same concern few months ago and I was looking for light spinning blank so as to built a light rod.
I found a good solution using some Rainshadow Graphite IM6 blank, I give you below the "technical specifications" I got from the supplier.

Those blanks are very good for value, do not hesitate to email me if you want more information:
Ref. lenght Sections Lure weight Diam But Diam Tip Action
ISP783F 6'6" 2 1/8-3/8oz. 3,5 à 10,7 gr 0.360 (9,1 mm) 4.5 (1,8 mm) Mod-Fast
ISP784F 6'6" 2 1/4-5/8oz. 7,1 à 17,9 gr 0.475 (12 mm) 5.5 (2,2 mm) Mod-Fast
ISP842F 7'0" 2 1/16-5/16oz. 1,8 à 8,9 gr 0.350 (8,9 mm) 4.5 (1,8 mm) Mod-Fast
ISP843F 7'0" 2 1/8-3/8oz. 3,6 à 10,7 gr 0.370 (9,4 mm) 4.5 (1,8 mm) Mod-Fast

I would recommend you the ref.ISP784F.
