Reel Seats

I have a two old rods that I am wanting to restore. They are the type that have a wood handle and the handle goes half way through the seat and the blank the other half. There is a Brass ferrel in the seat for the blank end.
My question is there any suppliers out there that still have this style of reel seat.
I am not sure if I am going to be able to get the brass ferrel out of the old reel seat with out destroying them. They have been in ther a long time. LOL

Thank,

Terry

It's more than likely one of the Lakeland stamped brass seats. You could replace it with the same type, and it woulnt be too hard. Heat the seat with a torch and twist. The butt and blank should come off easily. I love the look of those old ash butts, but those old stamped seats always seem to crack at the hoods.

Merrick, Mud Hole, FishSticks4U, Neals Fishing Products, are all just some of the many that are likely to still offer those type seats.
