Tom Kirkman?????? I remember.....he's the guy that convinced me to drive from PA down to NC last year and attend the National Rod Builders Show. It was the best advise for someone just starting out. I plan on going again this year as well. I also have his book which was also a big help.

People were building rods before I was born and I suspect they'll still build them after I'm dead and gone.

Tom's book got me hooked on rodbuilding. I still look at it months later. Never met or talk to him, but seems like a great guys and always answers my questions on here. Unlike many other pro's. He certainly gives back and helps alot just on this forum. Dont know what else he does, LOL! Re: Ok who is Tom kirkman

I have a "real" job - it involves volunteer work for a local land trust association. As much as I enjoy rod building, the preservation of our last wild places is my priority.
