Sliding a Fore grip on a 50# class stand-up got the glue all cleaned off when I found a o-ring on the floor, looking for it's home when I realized I had
The Knurled collet nut in my hand ! Had failed to put it back on before I installed the Grip. Cut it off will get a new one

That is alright Barry. Many years ago a very large hotel was built here in Houston. It was supposed to be self contained. There was a slight problem though, the architects forgot to put a laundry in it.

Up here people are starting to get into the ice fishing mode and I have some people wanting ice fishing rods. Well I nave 6 ice rods to build that people want actual reel seats instead of straight cork and sliding rings or just a tape on. Being that I never do things the easy way and l like to make nice stuff, I figure that I would use skeleton seats and turn down the normal ice rod handle to accomodate that. Just to let you know that the hole in those things are only 1/4 inch and that make for a very skinny mandrel. I was almost done with the fitting on one of them and just had a little more to sand off. Not thinking that I have a 10" long 1/4" mandrel sticking out the drill chuck on my wood lathe and the rpm around 3000, I hit the power button without putting the live center back where it belongs. Needless to say things didn't stay straight for very long. The mandrel bent over to 90 degrees and then the chuck came out of the lathe and luckily it fell straight down. Not one of my better moments.
