I blew it need BIG HELP

I broke the tip of the cane rod blank I was finishing. My first one. I purchased an assembled/built blank and was wrapping the tip when it just snapped on me. About 6 inches from the tip top .. not at a guide. Can it be fixed? Can *I* fix it? I'm really desparate. Thanks for any advice.

An email response would be best for me.

It can be fixed, but you probably can't do it. Not at this point.

Contact Russ at Golden Witch and see what help he can offer you. There are guys out there who can spice the pieces back together.

the kind of repair is called a scarf joint. if done correctly you can't see it. you may want to talk to the guy who sold it to you about making you a new tip or he may be able to do the scarf himself. he knows the taper.

Learn something new every day.... never would have thought a repair like that was possible.
