This was fully covered in an earlier issue of RodMaker, along with how to build a new spigot ferrule.
In the meantime, you'll have to drill the old one out. This isn't that hard to do if you have a lathe and can fix the rod in the chuck and use a drilling tailstock to take out the old ferrule. Go just a tad undersize on the bit and don't get into the inner walls of the blank itself. If you don't have a lathe, then it's going to be a bit trickier. You can still do it, but it will take some ingenuity and care on your part. ............. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
