Sorry Tom but I just had to post this warning to all!
Over the past couple of days I have received 50-60 spoof, phishing, and other fraudulent emails! I normaly get very few if any of these in my in-box for that email address. A lot of these emails are from "postmaster@" or similar. I was not going to post this warning until I got one from "[email protected]" with "registration confirmation" as the title line and a file is attached! There is a couple of links in the body of the email supposidly directing you to the Batson website but of course I did not click on them! I am going to email Batson to alert them as I am sure they did not send this! BE ALERT AND DON'T BE FOOLED!! Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Never click on an unsolicitated email. I get the phishing emails pretending to be from Paypal, wanting me to log in to "their site" to verify information. Yeah right.
Anymore if the email origination domain, or email address, is not on my "allowed" list it is filtered out as spam. Lou Re: Off Topic BEWARE EMAIL SCAMS durring the holiday season!

Someone is using the sponsors list here to create some of these fradulent emails.
I have received stuff with fake domains like @Batson, @fuji, @Dan Craft, @Mud Hole! MSN has caught them and filtered them to my junk-mail folder. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Off Topic BEWARE EMAIL SCAMS durring the holiday season!

These are automated programs and are not part of the sponsor list. They get into email programs on Windows based platforms and generate their own false domains from the addresses in the address books.
I would think by now that anyone even remotely computer savy understands not to open unsolicited attachments. Thanks for sharing the information, but now let's get back to rod building. There's no reason to continue a thread on the topic of email viruses or worms. The newspapers are doing a pretty good job reporting on it. .................. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
