Hello everyone,i need some advice on which blank to choose,it's a toss up between a forecast 34 000 000 mod. 9 ft #7 or a hook and hackle 47 000 000 mod. 9 ft #7 blank .What one would you choose and why? Re: rod blank choice

Stephen,
I think that it depends mainly upon how you are going to use the rod and how tough you are on equipment. The main trade off is the Hook and Hackle with the higher modulus is going to be lighter and therefore have higher efficiency and be more sensitive but the lower modulus Forecast will be more durable, harder to break. I am not sure what the cost trade off is. I would expect the Forecast to be significantly less expensive. Re: rod blank choice

I agree with Emory and the other thing to think about is the warranty. The H&H has a limited lifetime warranty, the forecast is a two year. I have built rods with both of these blanks and are both decent but again it depends on what you will use them for. If money isn't an issue go for the H&H.
