I want to put a label on a black back ground. I have to cover the label with cp or another type of protection or else the flex coat lifts the label up.If I just do the label I'm afraid you will see the line of demarcation where the pc ended. Is there something else I can use that will "disappear" when the flex coat is applied? If I cover the back with CA glue and the glue to the blank would that be a better solution?Will the flex c. eat the CA glue too?

I just recently put labels on three different rods: grey, black, and brown, and used Flex Coat cp. I put the cp on the label and immediately around it, and then put three coats of Flex Coat finish over. I just checked, and I am not able to see where the cp ends; the finish and the cp went together clear.

I get absolutely sloppy with CP on feather inlays. After a couple coats of finish, I cannot see any CP. It seems the finish covers a multitude of sins.

I don't know what type of decals you are using but I use water transfer decals all the time on black (thread or blank). I "sandwich" the decal between finishes and they come out almost 3D looking with no visible edge. I use a lot of gold decals which look awesome on the black background. Also, I never have to use CP. Jimi's decals at Decal Connection are first rate. Randy.

Bill is talking about self sticking clear decals with adhesive already on their back. Finish will lift the decal if not careful. Water slide decals do not have this problem.
