How does the U40 Color Lock 2 differ from Gudebrod 811? I do know that U-40 is water base and the 811 you thin with alcohol. What is easier to use? That's right, I have always liked NCP and want to branch out now. Thanks BILLY! Re: U-40 Color Lock 2 ???

Hey Jim,
Welcome to the real world!!! I haven't tried the U-40 yet but I really like the 811. The only complaint is the consistancy from batch to batch. I've had some that is so thick that it's more like snot while other bottles have been very thin. Works great though!! I sometimes use Flex Coat and that works good also. For myself I use Brilliance which is a water based CP and have always liked it the best. It may take longer to dry, but to me I feel I get a better penetration into the threads with it because it does take longer to dry. I don't always use CP but if I do, I prefere the water based ones. I don't see many people talking about problems they have with U40 but I do see people with problems using 811. And other CP's. That's the main reason I started using U40 and I haven't looked back.
It can't get much easier to use than 1) Open the bottle. 2) Stir well. 3) Apply to wraps. Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Re: U-40 Color Lock 2 ???

I use U40 and have done for some time now. I like it a lot. As Matt says, it is very simple to use and does a great job. Why make things harder than they have to be?
