Difference between rubber and vinyl winding check?

I think the black winding checks I see on rods is probably the vinyl type but when would a black rubber check be applicable (besides for safe fishing)? Re: Difference between rubber and vinyl winding check?

Try coating them with finish. Don't know but I would thing it will stop the cracking.
Or go to walmart and look for " toe rings " they can be sized for any blank and look better or get them from a sponcer Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
