I am wrapping a rod this week and I am using the"put the tie off loop in early and wrap seaveral more times then pull the thread through and before it come all the way out, cut it short and pull it under the wrap. It works well but my question is, if a little fuzzy shows through than why does'nt a burried thread. The burried thread is at least as tall as the nub or fuzzy. I have not applied the finish yet but this has crossed my mind.

If you allow enough room, the buried thead should be, well... buried. Sometimes the act of pulling the thread through tears the thread and pulls or frays it enough to cause that little fuzzy thing, which extends from the end of the buried thread.

Thanks for you reply Tom. I think I posted a looser thread. Maybe its cause I misspelled method. What I was getting at, is when the thread is pulled through, no matter how you finish, you can see the path of the tag end under the wrap, even though it is burried. So my question is, why does'nt this protrude after applying finish?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Unless something is protruding before finishing, it won't be afterwards. You may still notice a slight swelling where the thread is over the top of the tag end, but that would be about it.

That swelling is what I'm talking about. A nub is just about the same height as the swelling. It's funny how the swelling dose not screw up your finish. Thanks Tom
