Hi,
I'm looking for a multi piece 5wt. blank.
Can anybody help me with the Dan Craft SIGIII blanks? As I know some 5wt´s from Sage and Loop it would be a great help to compare the SIGIII to these rods.
Has anybody had problems with loosing pieces while fishing the 5pc. SICIII?
Thanks
Stefan

I have a Sig III 7wt 5pc and have fished it a lot for large rainbow, never had a problem with any of the pieces coming loose while fishing. The only time you might loose a piece would be if you don't put all the peices in the rod tube when you go home.

Have never fished a Loop but would put any of Dan's blanks up against a Sage any day.

I have a Sig III 5 wt at the house but I don't know how much good it would do to CC it as I didn't see any info to compare it to. As Dan stated it appears to be a med fast actioned blank, Sage makes blanks all over the spectrum so I don't know what to tell you. I wouldn't swap it for a Sage and I've had no problem with the ferrules.

We have discontinued our Sig III multi-piece blanks and for 2006 will be offering the new FTL 6pc models. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The FTL803-5 and FTL803-6 (3wt 5pc and 6pc) models will be available in about two weeks. The FTL904-6 and FTL905-6 should follow about 30 days after that. These will be a slightly lighter color than the FTs. The actions will be medium fast and the tapers will be a bit slower than the FT 9'0" models. Modulus will of course still be 57 million modulus high strain graphite. Labels will be decals rather than printed on the blanks.
Thanks,
