I don't have a complete thread collection. What color would come the closest to "Burgandy" finished and with CP?

In GUDEBROD's color scheme, the closest color to "BURGUNDY" would probably be GARNET-206: REGULAR NYLON #206 "GARNET"

The other hues of "red" are either a much brighter "red" (Scarlet-326 or Candy-Apple-335 or Rust-257), or they have more "purple" in them (Maroon-337).

Maybe the maroon or rust shifts in your "burgundy" direction when CP'd and epoxied. But I would not say that about the scarlet or candy apple - they stay bright and don't look like any burgundy I ever drank (or hadn't drank enough of ! - LOL).

I am not familar with the use of these colors of regular nylon thread WITHOUT the use of Color Preserver. But I do remember reading this RBO Thread which said:
Re: cp turns garnet dark ... Terry Blair ... 12-11-04...21:49 ... "Just finished an experiment with garnet [without CP, on a dark blank] ... and it went waay dark. Then I wrapped the same garnet on a matte black blank, but this time I gave it 2 coats of CP (Gudebrod 811 CP, with 24 hrs. between coats ). Then, One coat of Flex Coat HB and the colors were stunning! ... Hope this helps." –TB.

Sponsor SMRW (Summer Moon Rod Works), link at left, probably has some Gudebrod Color Charts left, if you need to order some Thread and stuff, and want to get a Catalog and Color Chart for yourself. -Cliff Hall+++

Hi Dan: I have just finished two rods that the owner wanted Burgandy. The only Burgandy I could find is made by Sulky, and it requires CP. I prefer 811.

Best regards, Pat Doyle
