Supplement......If you have fresh stitches in your finger...stay away from Acetone or any solvent AT ALL COSTS!!! If you accidentlly spill Acetone on a guaze that protects a half dozen stitches the solvent will not only absorb into the gauze, bit also penetrate the stitches. Once the solvent penetrates into the stitches beneath the skin it has great difficulty evaporating due to lack of fresh air exposure(my beleif, and choose not to experiment)..the pain of acetone to an exposed wound is brutal...when it STAYS in an open wound, its worse....when the pain lasts 45 minutes or more???......'enough said.
