I've been looking for a rotisserie motor to make a rod turner.
Got a suggestion this AM. Use an electric can opener motor. Re: Rod turner motor

You may want to check that out carefully. That type of motor isn't designed to run for long periods of time and may overheat. Re: Rod turner motor

Lionel,
I used a rotisserie motor for years to finish rods and had no real problems even when I had it rigged to dry four rods at a time. The only issues I had were the amount of time it would take to coat everything. One rpm is very slow and doesn't help with straight epoxy on the edges of threads. Being tired of goofing with gear reductions and all the other methods of slowing down motors I just bought a 16 rpm motor this morning. Here's a link but they do have a $15 minimum so call them and they may ship it anyway. [www.herbach.com] Tight wraps and lines, Wylie Re: Rod turner motor

Call Fishsticks and talk to Robert. They sell the Forecast drying motors for $6.22 and they're around 20-24 rpm if I remember correctly. I have two of these and they have performed flawlessly. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
