2 color thread wrapping?

I am a beginner. Where can I find some information on wrapping guides with 2 different colors of thread? I am able to wrap with one color now, how do you drop in a second color, like a metallic band on the end?
Thanks,
Dave

Roller guide spacing

I've probably built 50+ fly rods in the last 10 years and have had the guide spacing available hen purchasing blanks. I now live in Hwaii & am starting to build and re-build troling rods in the 30 to 80lb class & may some 130's. I've just just purchased some 5'6" 80lb class rods from Mud Hole and will making them for re-sale. My problem is I can't find a standard for guide spacing. I won 4 shimano's 50's & 2 30's that I fish with. I can always get from but I want to be right on. HELP. Thank you. Dick Peterson, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Dick,

You can do this yourself - why be dependent on somebody else's guide spacing, which probably isn't very good anyway.

Go to the online library here and read the article on guide placement. Once you learn it, you'll be able to do your own guide placement for any blank you buy.
