Does anyone here use spinning seats on casting rods for bass? It just would seem strange not having the trigger there on a normal reel seat for casting.
Thanks, Steve Re: bass rod seats

Once in a while you run into a guy who prefers not to have the trigger there. I've found this more often on flipping rods than any other. Of course, on some of the heavier casting rods used on saltwater rods, trigger seats aren't made in large enough sizes so you do see many of those rods without the trigger.

I am dealing with a pretty good bass fisherman at the present who has only used "pistol" type grips. Every time I try to fit him up with a cork grip and exposed blank seat he starts frowning and simply does not like the feel of the EB seat. After thinking about it I have realized that he is used to the bulk of the seat in front of the trigger on the pistols which is missing on the EB seats. I guess that is why the custom builder has an advantage - we can certainly build what ever the customer desires if it is within our boundaries of reason and good construction practices.

Fugi is the only one I know of that makes a trigger seat over size 18, they make a 20 and 22 . Jesse Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
