Is a 30 RPM motor to fast for a Epoxy Mixer.

Quite possibly. If the speed means that the viscosity of the mix overcomes the size/weight of the mixing ball used, then yes, it's too fast. 18 RPM is perhaps the best all around speed for good results in a reasonable time.

You can always give the 30 RPM unit a try, but if you don't get good results don't give up on the mixer idea - just get a slower motor and try again. And if it should turn out that it works for you and the finish you're using, then stick with it.

The same money will get you an 18 RPM unit from FishSticks 4U, a sponsor here. Custom Tackle may also have them although I can't say what the price will be. I do know they are high quality motors.

Michael,

I bought several 18 RPM motors from Bob at Custom Tackle for a decent price. Call them on the phone & inquire about price. They're great folks to do business with - outstanding service & straight forward answers to questions.
