Does anyone have any advice to offer regarding removing a reel seat adhered with Flex Coat 2-part epoxy? Anything that can be done to soften the bond and make removal easy?
Thanks - Sean Re: Reel Seat removal

I use a dremel tool with a fiberglass cutting wheel and make passes on the reel seat for removal. I mark the wheel with a bright marker to control the depth of cut . Re: Reel Seat removal

I have found that most seats can be removed or disassembled by putting them in boiling water for a while.
I put the seat area in a Ziplock bag(they make various kinds, and I think they have one that is made to withstand high heat and boiling water),and make sure that this is the only part that gets submerged. The amount of time it takes to soften the epoxy to the point it will come apart can vary quite a bit depending on the type of epoxy, how much was used to assemble it,and how old it is I think,so you have to check it often. Some of them come off pretty easily, while others can require some serious effort and time.If you are trying to save the blank then you need to check it often to make sure the blank is not getting too hot to be damaged though.
