Best way to remove epoxy over factory logo area?

I saw the recent posts on removing wraps/guides using an alcohol lamp to soften the epoxy but what about the logo area? I'm totally disappointed how my Gloomis STR1025S rod was built. It is very tip heavy, (took 2 1/2oz butt weight to balance), has only a 10" rear grip, the Concept spacing looks fine except the reel seat is about 2" rearward than it should. I want to strip down the butt section this winter, rebuild it with a split rear grip, move the reel seat up at least 2" (and bring it into alignment with the existing guides) and replace the 2" foregrip with something in the 3 1/2"- 4" range.

There is a 7" section of epoxy over the logo area and the epoxy on this part is the thickest I ever seen on a rod! The new foregrip and reelseat location should take up at least 4" of the existing 7". How do I make the top 3" look super clean or when I redo the new epoxy, will it just cover up any nicks/scars from stripping the old finish off anyway? Thanks.

Did some work on my GLoomis in this area and the finish peeled off like dead skin from sun burn once I got it started. No heat was required.I t had a wrap over the hook holder (that`s what was broken) that was easy to start the removal .Then I finished right over ot and it looked better than ever.
