Agate stripper prices

I tried to win some of the Agate strippers that GW has on @#$%& - but was constantly outbid by bids that are similar to the GW retail price or even more. I thought it would be a nice chance to get my hands on some of these at a good price but no !
What am I missing here - they are 26 $ when you buy them directly from GW - why pay more on @#$%& ???

Many of the people who search for rod building components on @#$%& have no idea where else to look for rod building items. Golden Witch is not the only rod component supplier that has figured out that they can often get more for an item on @#$%& than on their regular website. One dealer told me about their own success with selling components on @#$%& for more than retail and I decided to try things for myself. I put up a subscription to RodMaker Magazine. It brought $44. You can buy one year on the RodMaker website for just $26.95, but on @#$%& it brought $44. I have to believe that was because the persons who bid to that amount had no idea it was available anywhere else. Odd, but true.

I used to call it "THE BIDDING FRENZY"

Really just pure greed... the winning bidder just wanted it, no matter what the price...

I love @#$%&....

I know of a guy that paid $25 for a spool of Gudebrod silk thread !!!!!!! (50 yds) I asked him why???? Said ; "I wanted it !!! "

Amazon.com sells RodMaker subscriptions for something like $47 per year. Why would anyone buy one at that price? And yet they do, hardly a week goes by that I don't get a couple orders from Amazon.

Tom: I don't know if I am right or not, but I have relatives that give me an Amazom.com gift certificate each year. It cannot be redeemed for cash. Well, it can, but maybe at 1/100th the value. John

I agree with you the way you view the issue. I remember Jack London once said everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has positive side. It is also interesting to see different viewpoints & learn useful things in the discussion.
