Handle Jigs - Archive search help

I am looking for comprehensive information on creating inlays for cork and wood handles. I have seen the JIG for sale by Custom Tackle Supply, but it appears this JIG creates only the checker board pattern. Do most people create their own JIGS? Is there information on JIG theory? I have searched the archives but maybe I'm not inputting the right words. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, D Cole Re: Handle Jigs - Archive search help

Try searching the photo page under Equipment and Tools. There should be several types of other jigs depending what you want to do. Re: Handle Jigs - Archive search help

Doug,
The Custom Tackle jig will also help you cut triangles and diamonds. Some people create their own jigs. RodMaker magazine has had a couple of articles on building jigs for EVA and wood grips in the past year or two. Check the index to find which of the back issues you need to get. I beleive that Ray Jorgenson did the one on jigs for wooden grips. Re: Handle Jigs - Archive search help

Custom Tackle has 2 jigs One [www.rodbuilding.org] is for slicing. The thickness of slices can be changed by inserting 1" washers behind the material) and [www.rodbuilding.org] for diamonds and Checkers.
